One of the easiest and most scenic hikes around is Abbey Hill.

You will see a little lane on the left on the brow of the hill. You can park your car here (be sure not to block anyone else, this is a popular spot!)

From there, set off on foot down the lane and when you find a suitable gap in the wall, strike off and climb the mountain.

What do I need?

This is a very easy climb and fairly suitable for all fitness levels. Bring sturdy shoes, water, a phone and a camera.

Abbey Hill is located on the border between Clare and Galway and is a perfect quick hike if you are on your way to Galway. The views on a sunny day are out of this world and I always enjoy a trip here.
