After a day exploring the Burren, why not go out, meet the locals and enjoy a drink in one of the pubs.

Starting at the bottom of the village, by the pier, we have Monks Seafood restaurant and bar. Monks has a long history in the area and once belonged to the O Loghlen family. The pub originally took in shipments of coal and saw it dispersed all around the village.
Today, it is a thriving seafood restaurant which also has 11 luxury rooms, some of which overlook the sea. When the weather is good, having a drink here is a memorable experience. Enjoy a drink by the fire on a cold night and enjoy some Irish traditional music which happens twice a week*

Just a short walk from Monks is O Loclainns, a 6th generation pub. This is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cocktail after dinner. The pub is run by Margaret O Loclainn and the interior has not changed since it opened in the 1800’s. With over 700 bottles of whiskey and 70-90 whiskeys for sale, you are bound to find a drink that suits you. If you aren’t in to whiskey, Margaret has a brilliant cocktail menu, loads of gin as well as pints and wine. Call in and Margaret is more than happy to help you plan your holiday and give you recommendations!

At the very top of the village is the Fountain Bar. This pub is known for its live music which happens at least 4 times a week. You can find anything from traditional to singer songwriters to jazz in this bar. You can also get food here as it is part of Hylands Hotel.

Right next door to the Fountain Bar is Greenes Pub. A favourite with locals, there is always a warm welcome in this pub. Stop in and watch the hurling or listen to the music on a Sunday night. There is a large area out the back so it is a great spot to meet your friends if you have a big crowd.

The snug bar is part of the Wild Atlantic Lodge at the top of the village. This bar is a perfect place to start your evening. Live traditional music happens once or twice a week so keep an eye on their Instagram!
All these pubs have a different story, different vibes so be sure to explore them all on your journey!
